2024 Individual Achievement Wave Awards – Michael Dow & Carolann Weisel

The Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority was honored with three Wave awards in 2024! Head Electrician/Mechanic Michael Dow and Qualified Purchasing Agent Carolann Weisel (first and second from the right, respectively) each won an Individual Achievement Award.

Principal Engineer Thomas Petti and Executive Director Peter Canal (second and third from the left, respectively) accepted the Forward Thinking Award on behalf of the Authority. Also pictured: Peggy Gallos, Executive Director of the Association of Environmental Authorities.

Carolann C. Weisel joined the Authority in 2018 and after more than 35 years in municipal government, will be retiring from her post as Qualified Purchasing Agent as of August 2024. She obtained her Registered Public Purchasing Official and Qualified Purchasing Agent certifications from Rutgers University in 2012 and 2015, respectively. Ms. Weisel was instrumental in the development of an electronic requisition/purchase order system and the upgrading and conversion of the Authority’s accounting system software. She is a highly professional individual with a positive attitude, integrity, and is always willing to take on extra tasks or help a coworker.

Michael Dow joined the Authority as an Electrician/Mechanic in 2007 after a lengthy career at the Ford Motor Company. His hard work, attention to detail, and quality of work were clear at once. He was instrumental in planning and installing a new fiberoptic network and security camera system at the Authority Treatment Plant, saving a significant amount of cost by completing the project with Authority Staff. Mr. Dow made major  contributions to the restoration and mitigation of the Authority electrical system after Superstorm Sandy. He has proven himself to be, many times over, a vital member of the Authority’s team.
