From the Association of Environmental Authorities Recognition Awards Program held on March 11, 2020:

"In recognition of the Authority's post-Sandy Blower Building and Warehouse Storage project, the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority is being honored with a 2020 Wave Award in the Energy Savers category. 

Super Storm Sandy severely damaged the BRSA plant and processes, necessitating an out of the box and efficient plan to combine two damaged blower buildings into one building, upgrade the blowers to a more efficient system, provide flood proofing, and utilize the other building for a much needed warehouse space. The project reduced the overall number of blowers required from six to two. In a further effort to improve efficiencies, the outdated ceramic aeration tank diffusers were replaced with more efficient membrane diffusers. An integrated flood wall was then constructed around the building with stop logs for the entrances. 

Finally, plans are underway to implement an inventory control software program in the new warehouse, which will be tied into their work orders, purchase orders, and asset management software."
